That is a requested feature -- having each channel be indepentant of the
other. If you change (ie) the position of a keyframe for Pitch (in time,
i mean, not just up and down), the keyframes for hte other channels move,
too.
It might just be easier to set up your object in Layout, and not worry
too much about the motion graph. I use the motion graph rarely, like
when I have to set a cycle to Repeat or move all an objects positions or
rotations by a certain amount.

Two options:
If you have a Toaster, there's an effect for this. However, this is alos
rather limiting
If you have LW (who doesn't?), load up the StarWrp.scn (this is the name
on my Flyer LW version... don't know about others). It's the nice Star
effect you wanted. It's just a long string of 1-pt polygons, and the
camera moves through it. Unfortunatly, this won't loop.
Yet another way is to similate this may be with the Rain.scn. Tip it on
it' side and run the camera through it. There are 2 rain objects, one
behind the other. When one passes the camera, it jumps back behind the
2nd one, and this repeats over and over and over again. That's it. This
IS repeatable, but I haven't tried to make it into a starfield before.
The Snowcolumn.scn is similar, except it uses a displacement map to make
the snow appear to blow in the wind. Mark Thompson also used the
rain effect in Fred Floaty (the scenes are on In.Focus) for rain.
Hope this helps...
